Enregistré lors du prestigieux et exclusif Festival de Pâques de Baden-Baden cuvée 2014, voici la limpide et irrésistible lecture de Yannick Nézet-Séguin de L’Enlèvement au sérail de Mozart, avec le lumineux Chamber Orchestra of Europe et une superbe brochette de stars côté gosier. Qobuz n’a jamais caché que Nézet-Séguin lui semble le plus doué, le plus musicien (et l’un des plus modestes, ce qui ne gâche rien) des chefs de la jeune génération ; il est donc tout naturel que nous vantions cet enregistrement de toutes nos forces. Enregistré lors du prestigieux et exclusif Festival de Pâques de Baden-Baden cuvée 2014, voici la limpide et irrésistible lecture de Yannick Nézet-Séguin de L’Enlèvement au sérail de Mozart, avec le lumineux Chamber Orchestra of Europe et une superbe brochette de stars côté gosier. Qobuz n’a jamais caché que Nézet-Séguin lui semble le plus doué, le plus musicien (et l’un des plus modestes, ce qui ne gâche rien) des chefs de la jeune génération ; il est donc tout naturel que nous vantions cet enregistrement de toutes nos forces. Le ténor Rolando Villazón, qui est de tous les Mozart prévus pour la DGG avec Nézet-Séguin et dont trois sont déjà parus (le présent Enlèvement, Cosi et Don Giovanni, qui seront bientôt suivis de Lucio Silla et Il Re pastore), offre sa lumineuse voix de ténor au rôle de Belmonte – son premier Mozart enregistré en allemand ! © SM/Qobuz

Les atypiques symphonies électroniques de Mason Bates

Comment ça, vous ne connaissez pas (encore) Mason Bates ? C’est pourtant l’un des noms les plus présents sur la scène nord-américaine. Né en 1977, Bates est à la fois compositeur, surtout symphoniste et lyrique, et DJ de musique électronique (sous l'alias DJ Masonic) – deux pôles apparemment opposés mais qu’il se fait un malin plaisir à mêler. Ainsi, environ la moitié de son œuvre symphonique et lyrique comporte, d’une manière ou d’une autre, des sonorités électroniques, pour la plupart des sons « de tous les jours », préenregistrés et restitués en temps réel à mesure de la partition.
