Christian Ferras, sans doute le plus grand violoniste français du XXe siècle, est mort il y a trente ans, le 14 septembre 1982. Ce coffret numérique est une parution très bienvenue et particulièrement bien réalisée. Il reprend l'intégralité des enregistrements de Ferras pour Deutsche Grammophon, y compris les Concertos de Bach avec Karajan et le Concerto de Serge Nigg, inédit en CD. Les enregistrements Decca de ses jeunes années complètent la rétrospective, ressuscitant certains enregistrements rarissimes qui n'avaient pas reparu depuis plus de cinquante ans ! Decca a découvert dans ses archives un enregistrement totalement inédit, celui de la "Sonate pour violon BWV 1016" de Bach, captée en 1953. On trouvera sur le beau site des amis de Christian Ferras, qui a largement collaboré à cette parution, une mine d'informations sur l'artiste !

Descriptif de l'album

Christian Ferras, sans doute le plus grand violoniste français du XXe siècle, est mort il y a trente ans, le 14 septembre 1982. Ce coffret numérique est une parution très bienvenue et particulièrement bien réalisée. Il reprend l'intégralité des enregistrements de Ferras pour Deutsche Grammophon, y compris les Concertos de Bach avec Karajan et le Concerto de Serge Nigg, inédit en CD. Les enregistrements Decca de ses jeunes années complètent la rétrospective, ressuscitant certains enregistrements rarissimes qui n'avaient pas reparu depuis plus de cinquante ans ! Decca a découvert dans ses archives un enregistrement totalement inédit, celui de la "Sonate pour violon BWV 1016" de Bach, captée en 1953. On trouvera sur le beau site des amis de Christian Ferras, qui a largement collaboré à cette parution, une mine d'informations sur l'artiste !
