Une nouvelle fois, le titre parle de lui-même. L’auteur, inspiré du livre homonyme de l’écrivain François-Xavier Verschave, pointe du doigt les relations économiques et politiques – de domination – qui lient la France à l’Afrique. Le disque reste néanmoins majoritairement une compilation d’anciens titres de Tiken Jah Fakoly, ses plus grands succès tels que « Le Pays va mal » ou « Y’en a marre ». Réenregistré à la sauce jamaïcaine par Tyrone Downie (ex-membre des Wailers), l’album voit la participation de Sly Dunbar à la batterie, Robbie Shakespeare à la basse, Tyrone au clavier, Earl « Chinna » Smith à la guitare, et des featurings prestigieux avec U-Roy et Anthony B. Malgré cette super-production jamaïcaine appuyée par les moyens conséquents de sa nouvelle maison de disques Barclay, l’ensemble parvient à garder ses couleurs africaines et son authenticité.
