La bande originale du film Far From the Madding Crowd est menée par 4 entités principales tout au long du film ; l’actrice Carey Mulligan qui interprète une ballade étincelante (Let No Man Steal Your Thyme), The Eliza Carthy Band, un ensemble réuni autour du fiddle plutôt axé sur les danses populaires (Jenny Lind Polka, Michael Turner’s Waltz…), The Dorset Singers, un chœur chantant principalement des chorals de musique sacrée (Jerusalem, O Come O Come Emmanuel) et enfin, le compositeur Craig Armstrong, qui a participé à des arrangements pour U2, Texas, Madonna, mais a surtout écrit les bandes originales de Roméo + Juliette, Moulin Rouge, Love Actually.
