Après quatre années sur les routes du monde entier, les deux frères britanniques de Disclosure sont repartis en studio. Et ils ont été productifs, composant quelque 200 morceaux ! Après tri sélectif, leur troisième album, successeur de Caracal en 2015, présente finalement 11 titres avec un casting de rêve, dominé par les rappeurs et le Mali, et, comme toujours, cette facilité à retrouver l’ambiance du passé. C’est Kelis qui ouvre le bal avec un morceau très Neptunes circa 2000, Watch Your Step, parfait tube FM, avant de laisser la main au duo de rappeurs Aminé et slowthai qui se déchaînent sur le beat breaké jouissif de My High, tandis que le rappeur de Chicago Mick Jenkins, révélation de la dernière décennie, pose son flow sur un beat plus mellow (Who Knew?). Last but not least, Common, un “fantasme” pour les frères Lawrence, conclut l’album sur Rêverie, un titre qui porte parfaitement son nom. Le gros tube du disque revient toutefois à la Malienne Fatoumata Diawara, avec laquelle ils avaient déjà collaboré en 2018 sur le single Ultimatum, parfaite sur Douha (Mali Mali), en mode deep house aérienne, la signature de Disclosure depuis leurs débuts, et qui n’a rien perdu de son efficacité. © Smaël Bouaici/Qobuz
