Pour se libérer de la pression de leurs groupes respectifs, Robert Smith de The Cure et Steven Severin de Siouxsie & the Banshees se réunissent et forme The Glove. Le projet ne durera que le temps d’un album : Blue Sunshine. Véritable mix de sons psychédélique enrobés dans de la pop typique des années 80, les compositions sont mises en valeur par la belle voix de Jeanette Landray (Smith était interdit de chanter pour un autre groupe par sa maison de disque, ce qui ne l’a tout de même pas empêché de poser sa voix à deux reprises sur cet album). Les thèmes de la mort et du sexe sont omniprésent dans les textes, rappelant fortement les univers des deux artistes. L’éclectisme et les expérimentations du disque en font une parenthèse mémorable dans les carrières de Smith et de Severin. © LG/Qobuz

Pour se libérer de la pression de leurs groupes respectifs, Robert Smith de The Cure et Steven Severin de Siouxsie & the Banshees se réunissent et forme The Glove. Le projet ne durera que le temps d’un album : Blue Sunshine. Véritable mix de sons psychédélique enrobés dans de la pop typique des années 80, les compositions sont mises en valeur par la belle voix de Jeanette Landray (Smith était interdit de chanter pour un autre groupe par sa maison de disque, ce qui ne l’a tout de même pas empêché de poser sa voix à deux reprises sur cet album).
