Apocalyptic Love, deuxième album solo de Slash et premier à avoir Myles Kennedy au micro tout du long, propose ce que le guitariste et ses acolytes font de mieux, à savoir un hard rock teinté de sleaze rock école Los Angeles et truffé de couches de guitare. Pas de surprises à l'horizon, on commence avec des cascades de wah-wah pour entamer un heavy boogie façon Aerosmith, mais contrairement à Slash's Snakepit ou à son premier effort solo, Apocalyptic Love ne sonne jamais forcé, en faisant un disque agréable dans une catégorie somme toute assez étroite.
