Film incompris de Steven Spielberg (qu’il a repris – et complété avec sa patte distincte – d’un projet de son ami Stanley Kubrick, mort avant de pouvoir le réaliser), Artificial Intelligence : A.I. bénéficie d’une bande-son tout à fait adéquate, composée par un John Williams inspiré. En terrain connu, sa musique conservant ses accents épiques et opératiques, Williams se montre sobre et apaisé, les morceaux développant une tonalité aquatique et cristalline adaptée à l’atmosphère rêveuse du film. Si l’on n’est pas forcément surpris par le style de la musique, le compositeur ne se renouvelant pas vraiment, ce disque offre une version intéressante, car contemplative et harmonieuse, de sa musique habituelle.
