Il fut un temps où la radio était LE médium ultime. Toute la musique naissait là ! Et les stars se faisaient là ! C’est logiquement ici que Sinatra devint Sinatra. Mais si la postérité a conservé ses enregistrements officiels sur trois labels (Columbia, Capitol et Reprise), elle n’avait jusqu’ici pas réellement gravé dans le marbre sa naissance radiophonique, tous ses shows qui captivaient l’Amérique des années 30, 40 et 50. C’est chose faite avec ce sublime coffret de quatre disques réunissant le meilleur de ses apparitions à la radio entre 1935 et 1955. Une centaine de titres qu’on aurait tort de ne croire réservés qu’aux fans hardcore de celui qu’on baptisait The Voice. Grâce à une restauration sonore magistrale, on écoute Sinatra grandir musicalement et vocalement, établir ce style unique, cette façon bien à lui de s’approprier le great american songbook.
