Shordie Shordie

As a member of Baltimore rap trio Peso Da Mafia, Shordie Shordie got a quick start in the music world, branching out solo shortly after his group released their first mixtape. His 2018 mixtape Captain Hook found him approaching relationship issues and street struggles from interesting perspectives and with a distinctively grainy flow that jumped between rapping and singing. Follow-up projects included a 2021 joint effort with Murda Beatz, Memory Lane, and 2022's features-heavy More Than Music, Pt. 2. Another full-length, A Life for Two, arrived in 2023. Shordie Shordie was born RaQuan Hudson in 1996. Raised in Baltimore, he had almost no interest in rapping until he formed Peso Da Mafia in 2015 with his brother Lor Dee and their cousin PDM Purp. The group's 2017 single "Money Man" was a regional hit, due in part to the dance that accompanied the song. Peso Da Mafia's first mixtape, Never a Drought, appeared in 2018, and Shordie Shordie was already working on solo material. He released several singles that year, including "Lonely" and "Holidays," but it was "Betchua (Bitchuary)," a melodic, trappy tune about unfaithful partners, that caught on the most, streaming in the tens of millions in a short time. This song opened the floodgates for the rapper, and he released his debut mixtape, Captain Hook, later that year. Shordie Shordie's second mixtape, >Music, arrived in 2020 and managed to gain some chart traction. His third mixtape, a collaboration with Murda Beatz called Memory Lane, appeared the following year. 2022 saw the release of More Than Music, Pt. 2, which included features from Mozzy, Offset, and Rich Homie Quan. Shordie Shordie's next project was the 2023 full-length A Life for Two, which boasted standout cuts like "How High" and "Thug Life." In October of that year, he and Murda Beatz teamed up for their follow-up, Memory Lane 2.
