Noise is the fourth record by London psychedelic/rock/trip-hop outfit Archive. Noise marked the moment when Archive turned from a creative outlet for the founding duo of Darius Keeler and Danny Griffiths into a full-fledged collective with shared songwriting duties. In an unexpected move for a collective heavily reliant on electronic production, Archive later re-released Noise in an unplugged version.

In your panoramas...
Trip Hop in 10 Albums

At the dawn of the ’90s, the trip hop wave overtook the UK with an electronica sound influenced by Jamaican music and hip hop beats. With their chloroformed rhythms and heavy ambience, Massive Attack, Portishead, Tricky, Morcheeba and several other outfits invented a kind of dark, futuristic and often cinematic soul music. Here’s a spotlight on 10 albums from a genre with blurred sonic borders but a definitive musical influence.

Warp, 30 Years of Groundbreaking Music

Warp, the record label which led to the blossoming of some of the most boundary-pushing artists of the electronic music scene, such as Aphex Twin, LFO, Boards of Canada, Autechre, and Squarepusher, now has their catalogue available on Qobuz. It’s the perfect opportunity to revisit the history of Britain’s best-respected independent label.

Massive Attack, a dream trip

25 years after its birth in Bristol, trip-hop still captivates as much as ever. True to its origins, Massive Attack is far from having finished experimenting with mixing dub, soul, rap and new wave.
