Loko

Founded in 2018, OWV is a Malaysian alt-rock band formed by Ashraf (vocals/rhythm guitar), Aliff (lead guitar) and Aiman (bass). Meeting in high school, the four then-teenagers began jamming together under the name Metro 98, writing their first catchy single “Pujaan Hati” (2018) when they graduated, releasing a homemade music video which attracted over a million views online. Gaining the attention of Malaysian producers Afiq PB and JD Wong, the band recorded a studio version, changing their name to Lokomotive before shortening it to Loko, releasing their second single “Untuk Dia” in 2019, followed by EP Mata Kaca shortly after. Making a name for themselves on the Klang Valley indie scene, the band gained a considerable following performing on the university circuit and at the Api-Api Music Festival. Over time, the band’s line up changed, with Hisyam joining the group on drums and Aiman leaving to focus on his solo career, replaced by new bassist, Iman. Releasing their crowd-pleasing acoustic demos independently throughout 2021, the band released single “Kritikan” (2021) followed by “Aiskrim” in November 2022.
