Kim Na Young

Best known as the singer of K-pop hits like "What If It Was Going," "Goodbye List," and the chart-topping "To Be Honest," Kim Na-young was born in Seoul, South Korea, on December 31, 1991. She launched her performance career by busking in the city's Hongdae district in 2012, then earned a spot on the South Korean television show Superstar K in 2013. "Street Life," a duet with fellow Superstar K contestant Jang Won-ki, was released as her debut single that same year and became a Top 40 success, peaking at Number 32 on the Gaon Digital Chart. She contributed songs to soundtracks like Trot Lovers and Marriage, Not Dating in 2014, then released her full-length debut album, From the Heart, in 2016. Although the album itself stalled at Number 61 on the South Korean charts, the singles "Sometimes" and "Water Memories" both became Top 40 hits, with "What If It Was Going" climbing all the way to Number 2. "Once Again," her contribution to the Descendants of the Sun soundtrack, also charted at Number 2 in 2016. Inner, her sophomore album, appeared two years later and expanded Kim Na-young's catalog of K-pop hits, with "Being an Adult" climbing to Number 40, "Each of Us" climbing to Number 38, and "But I Must" peaking at Number 24. Kim Na-young also appeared on "Love Sick," a Top 20 single by the South Korean rock band F.T. Island, before shifting her focus to non-album singles in 2019. The first of those releases, the platinum-certified "To Be Honest," became her first Number 1 hit, with the Number 4 single "Goodbye List" following later that year. While continuing to record stand-alone singles, she also released new music on various soundtracks in 2021, including "Where Are You" (from the TV series Run On) and "There For You" (from the TV series Our Beloved Summer).
