Flora Martinez

Born in Montreal, Canada to a Canadian mother and Colombian father, actress and singer Flora Martinez spent her early years in both Vancouver and Bogota. She began her career acting in TV shows before training at the New York Conservatory. She has appeared in several films, the best known being 'Rosario Tijeras' in which she played the title role in 2005.

After several years as an actress, Martinez released her debut solo album 'Flora' in 2016, containing popular tracks 'Happy', 'The Captain of Her Heart' and 'Los Aretes de la Luna'. She then wrote, directed and starred in a theatre show entitled 'Frida Libre' based on the life of Frida Kahlo, telling the story of one of the most influential women in Latin American history. The show began in 2017 and led to the release of her second album 'Flores Para Frida' in 2018. Popular singles from the album included 'You Belong to My Heart' and 'The Tequilera'. In 2019, Martinez released the singles 'Moon Lover' and 'Día du Muertos'.
