Der Bach-Mann

Masaaki Suzuki ist ein Superstar der Bach-Szene. Nach seinem Kantaten-Konzert beim Bachfest Leipzig in der Thomaskirche wird er von zahlreichen Fans, nicht nur japanischen, umlagert, er muss Autogramme geben und für Fotos posieren. Das dauert. So beschließen wir, das Interview mit dem Mittagessen im Hotel zu verbinden, ehe er zur nächsten Probe muss. Der 64-jährige Japaner spricht Deutsch, will das Interview aber doch lieber auf Englisch führen. Er ist gut aufgelegt und seine Frau, die kurz dazukommt, kann ihn gerade noch davon abhalten, sich einen Wein zur Pasta zu bestellen – so schwenkt er auf Eistee um. Er lacht viel, belässt es aber meist bei kurzen Antworten, die hier zum Teil zusammengezogen sind.
