Bolstered by the single "We Come Running," which was the most requested song on Los Angeles' KROQ radio upon its release, this new project from former members of new wave revivalists Iglu and Hartly is named after a 1961 Herman Wouk novel based on the life of Thomas Wolfe. Youngblood Hawke's eponymous debut EP is frantically positive, destructively danceable, and steeped in the kind of shimmery, unpredictable facial hair-oriented, indie pop cacophony that's brought so much success to like-minded acts such as Passion Pit, Fun., Jukebox the Ghost, Imagine Dragons, and Walk the Moon.
