Lil Uzi Vert vs. the World, Lil Uzi Vert's short mixtape debut for major label Atlantic, hadn't run its course by the arrival of the follow-up, The Perfect Luv Tape. "Money Longer" was in the middle of a lengthy stay on the Billboard Hot 100, and "You Was Right" had just touched that chart. This like-sized set of marginally lower quality nonetheless preserved the Philadelphian's 2016 commercial presence. Since only a couple months separated the releases, there's not much in the way of stylistic differentiation or development here. The rapper, all bratty swagger, maintains their offhanded approach, coursing through a stream of disconnected lines of taunts and boasts delivered in choppy and singsongy fashion. "Seven Million," a straightforward and effective Future collaboration, and "Original Uzi (4 of Us)," a sharp and fully energized Maaly Raw/Ike Beatz production, are among the notable cuts.
