Para su primer álbum en más de una década, el legendario productor, compositor y pianista de Nueva Orleans Allen Toussaint optó por prescindir de su propio material estelar para elaborar una recopilación de versiones. Sin embargo, los temas aquí contenidos no son canciones cualquiera, sino una rica selección de temas clásicos de Nueva Orleans interpretados por uno de sus hijos musicales de mayor talento. El gumbo resultante echa mano de las miles de experiencias musicales de Toussaint, aunque se centra a menudo en sus increíblemente conmovedoras interpretaciones al piano.
