El público no había digerido del todo su impresionante primer disco cuando The Doors hacían doblete, ese mismo año de 1967, con Strange Days. Días extraños como las piezas que contiene, unas composiciones que en aquel momento no se parecían a ningunas otras, que avanzaban como a trompicones creando atmósferas ciertamente oníricas. En resumen, que si Jim Morrison cantaba que la gente es extraña (People Are Strange) otro tanto podría decirse de su banda… Constantes cambios de ritmo, letras oscilantes entre la crítica social y el puro delirio, largos pasajes a medio camino del trance y del cabaret, en un ambiente casi circense y a cargo de unos músicos con alma de saltimbanquis, como ya anuncia la propia portada del disco.
