Desde I Never Learn, en 2014, la reina sueca del pop no había dado noticias discográficas, quizá para hacer una regreso triunfal con este So Sad So Sexy. Y Lykke Li, de voz casi infantil y presencia hasta cierto punto melancólica, se rodea aquí de los mejores, como, entre otros, Jeff Bhasker (Kanye West), Malay (Frank Ocean, Zayn) y T-Minus (Drake, Nicki Minaj), que colaboran en un tema, Deep end. Un buen ejemplo de pop moderno apoyado por percusiones electrónicas, cantado con irredento lirismo y erótica poesía, que enlaza muy bien con Two Nights, canción en crescendo hipnóticamente cautivadora. Y es que, en efecto, estamos ante una fémina que sabe cómo fascinarnos y arrastrarnos a la más sensual danza, que obliga a los cuerpos a unirse lenta y apasionadamente. Para ese dúo ha invitado al rapero Amine, que insufla un ritmo más potente que solo consigue amplificar, aún más, el encanto de la vocalista sueca. Y después viene esa intro a cargo de una sorpresiva guitarra acústica en Jaguars In The Air. Pues esa es otra de las cualidades de Lykke Li, capaz de asociar su pop electrónico, su voz sintetizada vía Vocoder y sus percusiones a instrumentos tradicionalmente mucho más clásicos.
