Each new JPEGAMFIA project is an experiment. LP!, his fourth album in five years, not only proves that the American rapper and producer is a prolific artist, but also that he is one of very few rappers who can claim to be re-drawing the contours of current rap. By deconstructing his compositions and mastering the art of sound collage, he tackles experimental hip-hop while remaining forward-looking. This album can be enjoyed in a single sitting, and it takes the listener through countless emotions and atmospheres. From the glitch rap of NEMO! to the rock and roll of END CREDITS! from the superb melodies of ARE U HAPPY? to the noise-rap of BMT! he produces every track, showing that when an artist takes his musical process in hand, he can do great things. LP! is a real success, made more affordable by titles such as DAM! DAM! DAM! or his 2020 hit, BALD! on which he reminds us that he is indeed a rapper, in the truest sense of the word.
