In the wake of Paso a Paso (2005), with its run of hit singles and its wave of critical acclaim, Luis Fonsi released the first greatest-hits collection of his career, Exitos: 98:06. Though not all of his many hits over the years are compiled, the best of them are indeed more or less here -- from "Nada Es Para Siempre," the chart-topping highlight of Paso a Paso, to "Imagíname sin Ti," which in 2000 became his first chart-topper, to a couple songs from his 1998 debut album -- and in addition to functioning as a summary of career highlights, Exitos: 98:06 showcases Fonsi's remarkable growth as an artist. The compilation includes two new songs, "Tu Amor" and "No Lo Digas Más," the former of which was released as a single and became a chart-topping hit. Besides these two new songs, Exitos: 98:06 includes hits from each of Fonsi's albums (except the unsuccessful English-language crossover album Fight the Feeling [2002]) in reverse chronological order. The inclusions from Paso a Paso are "Nada Es Para Siempre," "Por una Mujer," and "Me Matas." The inclusion from Abrazar la Vida (2003) is "¿Quién Te Dijo Eso?" The inclusion from Amor Secreto (2002) is "Quisiera Poder Olvidarme de Ti." The inclusions from Eterno (2000) are "Imagíname sin Ti," "No Te Cambio Por Ninguna," and "Mi Sueño." The inclusions from Comenzaré (1998) are "Perdóname" and "Si Tú Quisieras."
