Columbia Historic Edition is a 10-track compilation of material Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys recorded for Columbia Records in the late '30s and '40s, with eight of the tracks dating before 1941. Many of Wills' greatest songs, such as "Right or Wrong" and "Cherokee Maiden," are included, as are a handful of lesser-known songs like "Lyla Lou" and the instrumental "Cowboy Stomp." Though there are several more comprehensive collections available on the market, Columbia Historic Edition is a thoroughly entertaining and concise sampling of Wills' classic period.
