Tras la buena acogida que tuviera Time (2013), su primer álbum de material original en casi veinte años, Rod Stewart decidió volver a probar fortuna con Another Country, una nueva colección de canciones propias a las que se suma una versión de "A Friend for Life" de Steve Harley. Stewart incluso se atreve a correr algunos riesgos, incluyendo un reggae ("Love and Be Love"), folk inglés a lo Mumford & Sons ("Hold the Line"), una alusión a sus hits discotequeros de los ochenta ("Walking in the Sunshine"), un par de temas bastante roqueros ("Please") e incluso algunos que en la voz de otro podrían resultar ridículos, como la canción infantil "Batman Superman Spiderman" o el himno futbolístico "We Can Win", y siempre se las ingenia para salir bien parado.
