Since 1968, Tower of Power has been performing a high-energy blend of soul, funk and R&B that firmly pushed the sound of horns into the rock era. Founded by saxophonists Emilio Castillo and Stephen "Doc" Kupka in Oakland, CA, the the ensemble found chart success with originals like "So Very Hard to Go" and "What is Hip?" and as a featured horn section for Elton John, Santana, Bonnie Raitt, P. Diddy, Little Feat, and Heart.

Though the line-up has gone through many changes over their 50 plus years, with Castillo and Kupka still at its heart, the group’s infectious live shows remain at the top their game.
