Long esteemed New York rap trio the Lox followed up their unannounced 2013 EP The Trinity almost exactly a year later with The Trinity: 2nd Sermon. Both EPs were released online with no publicity or public lead-up of any kind. The Trinity: 2nd Sermon is made up of just five tracks of the type of hard-edged East Cost hip-hop Lox had been making for nearly 20 years, vitriolic rhymes and heavy beats flowing non-stop for the EP's short duration. Guest emcee Tyler Woods shows up on the dark track "Horror," and Lox are joined by raspy rapper Whispers on the spooky, midtempo groove of "Footage."
