Western classical music, for all its richness, covers just several hundred years. China's classical music, by comparison, covers several thousand. To condense that vast treasury of music into a few volumes was a challenging undertaking for engineer/producer Aik Yew-Goh. In order to capture the classic tradition, Mr. Aik went to the masters in each Chinese province recording their music with unparalleled high standards. These Hugo recordings are the glorious result. They are considered the definitive record of China's classical music, never before available outside the People's Republic of China. (All four volumes are sold separately or as a set.)
