This Detroit quartet's debut album spawned the mega-smash hit "Float On." With its humble production and inflexible arrangement, the foursome were able to distinctly convey their individual vocal talent. The urban ballad stayed on the Billboard R&B charts for 20 weeks, claiming number one for six of those weeks. It labored on the pop charts at number two for two straight weeks. The follow-up single, "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me, " is a mellow number. It is slightly pop-oriented with some doo wop seasoning. It peaked at #28 after only seven weeks. This album has some pop, doo wop and soul numbers, but none of them have the same texture that the hit single "Float On" has.
