This single LP, along with its predecessor (Vols. 1 and 2 of The Last Concert) would find the Modern Jazz Quartet giving their final concert, breaking up after 22 years not to regroup until nearly seven years later. Most of the famous selections were on the earlier set so the seven tracks on this LP are of a more recent vintage. Highlights include "Really True Blues," "Blues in H," and "In Memoriam"; the latter is given a 16-minute rendition. This was a historic night that luckily preceded a lengthy vacation rather than a permanent retirement.
