Following 2010's Eparistera Daimones, the second full-length album from the latest band of legendary Celtic Frost founder Thomas Gabriel Fischer is simultaneously gloomily somber, crushingly heavy, and fast. Melana Chasmata continues his trademark raw, harsh style of extreme music combining elements of death, doom, and black metal. Its Greek title means "Ink-Black Chasms" and its disturbing cover artwork was done by renowned Swiss surrealist H.R. Giger.
