Nashville-based singer/songwriter Andrew Peterson's 2012 effort Light for the Lost Boy finds the often folk- and country-inclined Christian artist moving toward a more alt-rock-oriented sound. While the album retains Peterson's central knack for intimate and often poignant spiritual songs, as heard on 2010's Counting Stars, here he fleshes out the recording with epic electric guitar lines, stark keyboard parts, and driving rhythm section moments. The result is a moving album of Christian pop uplift that should appeal to both longtime Peterson fans and listeners who are just discovering his literate, passionate music.
