Preserving the crafty tradition of subverting pop music conventions and formulae--following in the footsteps of experts such as the Beatles, Beck, the Residents, and Devo--the Bird and the Bee is the duo of Inara George (daughter of late Little Feat frontman Lowell George) and multi-instrumentalist (and Beck associate) Greg Kurstin. These two combine the symphonic pop of Brian Wilson, Brazilian bossa nova, the smooth melodiousness of the Carpenters, and tart lyrical content of P.J. Harvey and Henry Rollins for modern pop that's both irreverent and soothing.
