Following a first volume released in 2014 Richard Thompson continues to revisit, in acoustic version, his own legacy. He handpicks compositions both in his solo albums and those recorded in duo with his wife Linda. Akin to Randy Newman and his Songbook trilogy, the repertoire’s content is so rich that the master of British folk can go ahead with his eyes closed and take on the covered song any way he wishes. However this approach, mostly recommended to his most hard-core fans, is far from anecdotal. It allows you to contemplate the author’s marvels under a completely new and unique angle. On the guitar Thompson sends out new sparkles of perfection. Not a surprise coming from a master of the genre… Finally the warm and lively voice of the former Fairport Convention band makes this enchanted parenthesis even more… enchanted!
