Raluca Stirbat
Raluca Stirbat is a Romanian pianist. She began taking piano lessons at age six, and by the age of ten she was already performing in public, playing Haydn's Piano Concerto in D major. She was regarded as a child prodigy, and began performing with orchestras in Romania and elsewhere in Europe. She studied at the University of Music in Vienna with Jürg von Vintschger and received her master's degree in piano performance. Stirbat has won awards at many competitions in Romania and the Czech Republic, and she has toured extensively across Europe and in the U.K., Cyprus, Tunisia, Turkey, Morocco, Singapore, and Iran. Stirbat regularly promotes Romanian music, making the works of George Enescu an area of specialization. Her collection of the complete piano music of Enescu was released in 2015 on the Hänssler Classic label.
