Me Verás Volver (Hits & Más)

Soda Stereo

Pop/Rock - Released June 28, 2007 | Ariola

In 2007, Argentinian rock superstars Soda Stereo announced they were launching a reunion tour, ten years after the group brought the curtain down on their career with a stadium show in Buenos Aires. Soda Stereo's reunion tour was seen by roughly one million fans, and to commemorate the occasion, the collection Me Veras Volver (Hits & Mas) was released, featuring classic recordings of 18 of the group's best-known songs, including "Nada Personal," "De Musica Ligera," "Signos," "Primavera 0," "Zoom," "Zona des Promesas," and 12 more.© Mark Deming /TiVo

Dynamo

Soda Stereo

Pop/Rock - Released October 9, 1992 | Columbia

This album was Soda Stereo's most eclectic, most ignored, and most experimental work. It was also by far the least popular and the most pretentious. Just after its release the band changed labels (from Sony to BMG) and this fact conspired against the album's diffusion. Some fans didn't catch up with the band's intention, while others took it as a landmark of pop experimentation. The band used the sampler intensely and set the sound treatment carefully, but without leaving the pop structure. Daniel Melero co-wrote some of the songs and played keyboards, but the strong influence he had over the band was reaching an end. The album contains one of their most beautiful songs, "En Remolinos," as well as the hits "Primavera Cero" and the smooth and delicate "Fue."© Iván Adaime /TiVo

Comfort Y Musica Para Volar

Soda Stereo

Pop/Rock - Released September 1, 1996 | Ariola

This is not a typical MTV unplugged album: first, because not all the songs were acoustically worked; and second, it contains just seven songs from the taped show -- the rest of the album contains four tracks that are actually Sueño Stereo outtakes. Probably this is the most interesting stuff. "Planeador" is one of the most beautiful songs ever written by the band, while the instrumental "Sonoman" adds some vitamins to the extremely quiet output of the previous year. From the old stuff, the best reworked versions are "En la Ciudad de la Furia" (a duet with Andrea Echeverri from Aterciopelados) and "A Misil en Mi Placard." It's a pity that the Vox Dei cover "Génesis," which was originally aired, was not included in this CD. Although not essential, it's worthwhile listening.© Iván Adaime /TiVo

El Ultimo Concierto A

Soda Stereo

Pop/Rock - Released July 14, 1997 | Ariola

Soda Stereo were one of Argentina's most successful rock bands; combining the power and anthemic sound of classic guitar-based rock with the energy and imagination of new wave and alternative rock, the trio was one of the most popular and celebrated bands in Latin America in the 1980s and '90s. In 1997, Soda Stereo announced they were breaking up, and El Ultimo Concierto, Pt. A was recorded during the group's final performances at River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires. Selections include "El Rito," "Canción Animal," "Signos," "En la Ciudad de la Furia," and six others. (More music from this show appears on El Ultimo Concierto, Pt. B.)© Mark Deming /TiVo
