Judah Band

An exuberant melting pot of rock, funk, pop, and even classical, Indianapolis-based collective Randy Weston & Judah Band add a unique zest to their brand of gospel on albums like 2018's Gone Fishin' and 2022's Made for This. The group was founded by G. Randy Weston a singer, songwriter, and producer who also serves as creative director for Grammy-winning gospel star Vashawn Mitchell. Beginning in 2014, Weston and his group took their messages of faith and hope on the road, building up a fervent fan base with their energetic performances and fun gospel party band style. They signed with Malaco subsidiary Xist Music to release their debut album, The Return of Glory, in 2015. Two years later, they announced a move to the eOne imprint Light Records and released the three-song EP For My Good. A second EP, More Than I Ever Expected, appeared in early 2018, followed later that year by the full-length Gone Fishin', which debuted at number seven on Billboard's Top Gospel Albums chart. Weston kept the momentum alive with the funky "I Believe" from Judah Band's 2020 release, Hush, then followed it with the bright electro-folk single "Up from Here." The group's third full-length, Made for This, appeared in 2022 and featured guest spots from Vashawn Mitchell, Tasha Page-Lockhart, and others.
