Stefano Lentini

Composer and multi-instrumentalist Stefano Lentini - born in Rome, Italy on November 26, 1974 - is best known for his scores for films, TV, and theater. His musical journey began when his grandfather made a classic guitar for him. After studying guitar, he also learned to play piano, bass, drums, flute, and other instruments. He made his live debut in Rome at the iconic venue Folkstudio when he played guitar with vocalist Laura Polimeno. He began performing with a choir, which inspired him to compose his first work for choir in 1995. During this period, he met British folk guitarist John Renbourn, who inspired him to work with unconventional guitar tunings. For his recordings, Stefano Lentini plays many of the instruments himself, offering a uniquely intimate symphonic sound. His early film scores include Smart (2005), Excellent Cadavers (2005), La Via del successo (2005), Shooting Silvio (2006), and 399 B.C. (2009). Stefan Lentini moved into composing for television series with 2009’s Bakhita, which was followed by acclaimed scores for other series including Braccialetti rossi (2014-2016), La porta rossa (2017-2023), Mare Fuori (2020-2023), and Supravvissuti (2022). A prolific composer, he continued to write scores for films such as Ailes de Mercure (2012), The Grandmaster (2013), Sarà un Paese (2014), The Nest of the Turtledove (2017), Tainted Love (2018), Taranta on the Road (2018), and Self 05: A Night in Shanghai (2019). Some of his most popular music comes from the TV series Mare Fuori, which has spawned three different soundtracks: Mare Fuori (Colonna sonora originale della Serie tv) (2020), Mare Fuori, Seconda Stagione (2021), and Mare Fuori - Stagione 3 (Colonna sonora originale della Serie tv) (2023).
