Nightfell
While the gloom of the Pacific Northwest has given birth to its fair share of doom bands, few of them have as exciting a pedigree as Nightfell. Formed by Todd Burdette of His Hero Is Gone and Tragedy, and Tim Call of Aldebaran and the Howling Wind, the band find the two extreme metal innovators combining their individual doom aesthetics into a cohesive vision. Brooding and bleak, Nightfell's sound explores the realm of death-doom, merging death metal's propulsive pace with the nocturnal atmosphere of funeral doom. The pair debuted their suffocating sound on Southern Lord with the release of their debut album, The Living Ever Mourn, in 2014.
