We met Olaf Maninger behind the scenes, in the film studio where the Berliner Philharmoniker is recorded ‘in action’, creating live broadcasts for the Digital Concert Hall. He gave us the story about the latest project of the in-house orchestra: Berliner Philharmoniker Recordings!

The orchestra started their adventure with the 4 Schumann Symphonies, under the direction of the head conductor Sir Simon Rattle. Their aim is to display the entire range of the orchestra's symphonic performances. They now go beyond the merely 'artistic' profession, as from now on the label will carve itself a place in the music industry, thanks to its extremely high technical standards. Lovers of high definition sound will be more than satisfied with the label’s HD recordings in 24 bit and Surround-Sound. The orchestra is facing a new, exciting era with enthusiasm and ambition…
