You can't keep truly good musicians down. For those of you who were lucky enough to have seen Elbow's magnificent session with the BBC Orchestra back in 2009 off the back of album The Seldom Seen Kid, you know what we mean when we say there's just something incredibly haunting and special about the music produced by this outfit. Lead singer Guy Garvey is certainly at his vocal best in their new album. From start to finish the album brings delightful harmonies that help to highlight the genius of the lyrics themselves, as well as that of the experimental and daring melodies that back each track. Elbow have been regular nominees for the Mercury Prize ('01,'08) as well as having a Brit Award (Best British Group '09) and an NME Award for "Outstanding contribution to British Music" (2009).
