With his deep bass voice Josh Turner has steered his latest album towards the world of gospel.

I Serve A Savior is a record that this country baritone has wanted to make for a long time, and you can hear it in the music! Passionately invested in the material, Turner revisits great country classics like I Saw The Light by Hank Williams or I Pray My Way Out Of Trouble by Loretta Lynn. With Sonya Isaacs helping with the harmonies, he sets out on a true pilgrimage, where lyricism, joy and spiritual awakening await at every turn. His hypnotising and slightly nasal voice is delightful on Amazing Grace, and the total devotion he brings to I Serve A Savior is enough to make you believe that he has experienced some sort of mystic vision. But the album's high point has to be Without Him. An acoustic serenade covered in country sounds that speaks of the greatness of Jesus and celebrates him in song. The album is almost a family affair, as his wife and three children sing a pure-hearted rendition of The River (Of Happiness). The song is a blessing that he bestows on his nearest and dearest. I Serve A Savior brings Turner back to his roots: after all, as a young man he had founded a gospel group named Thankful Hearts, not to mention his connections to Nashville.
