Kamille

Singer, hit UK songwriter, and producer Camille Angelina Purcell, known by the stage name Kamille, was born in London, England on 29 June 1988 and spent a number of successful years writing behind the scenes for other artists before debuting as a soloist in 2017. Prior to this, she attended the Sylvia Young Theatre School where she was able to sharpen her performance skills and scored her first notable break as a songwriter in 2013 with a co-write on the Saturdays' chart-topping hit "What About Us," which featured Sean Paul. This paved the way for a fruitful collaborative partnership with Little Mix, for whom she co-wrote the 2015 number-one hit "Black Magic," which was nominated for Best British Single at the Brit Awards, and "Shout out to My Ex," which won the Brit Award for British Single of the Year in 2017. Her own debut EP, My Head's A Mess, emerged in 2017, and was propelled by two singles: the Avelino-assisted "Body" and "Raindrops." She was nominated for Songwriter of the Year at the 2018 A&R Awards and the following year picked up the Music Creative Award at the Music Week Women in Music Awards. That same year, she launched her own label and publishing company, Pure Cut, as well as setting up her own studio, Saint Studios. In 2021, she won her first Grammy Award for her work on Dua Lip's Future Nostalgia, which won Pop Vocal Album at the 63rd Grammy Awards. Kamille has released a string of solo singles following her debut in 2017, including 2022's "learning" and "weight loss" and "Muscle Memory" and "Options," featuring Tamera and Bellah in 2023.
