Gavin Turek

Born on April 19, 1987, in Los Angeles, California, Gavin Turek is an American singer, actress, and dancer. The daughter of a pianist father and a gospel-singing mother, she grew up surrounded by music, citing legends like Stevie Wonder, Prince, and Michael Jackson as some of her earliest influences. Although her initial passion led her to the dance floors of India and Ghana, her love for singing eventually commanded the spotlight. Her journey in music was catalyzed by two game-changing collaborations: the ethereal track "Darkest Dim" with producer TOKiMONSTA, and a dynamic association with Mayer Hawthorne in the funk ensemble Tuxedo. Produced by TOKiMONSTA, her debut EP You're Invitedsaw the light in 2015 and was followed by a second extended play titled Good Look for You (2017), released via under her imprint, Madame Gold Records. Subsequent singles like "WHITNEY" and "2AM" further raised her profile, appearing on the Netflix series Dear White People and HBO's High Maintenance. Following tours in diverse corners of the globe and a celebrated appearance on Conan, Gavin Turek dropped her highly anticipated studio debut, Madame Gold, in 2021. Produced alongside Childish Gambino's collaborator, Chris Hartz, Madame Gold succeeded in distilling the singer's sound into a sensual concoction of R&B, neo-soul, and late-night funk.
