White Violet

Specializing in a kind of melancholic bedtime folky dream pop, Athens, Georgia-based White Violet are centered around the songs and vocals of writer and guitarist Nate Nelson. The band literally began at impromptu jams in Nelson's bedroom, officially becoming White Violet in 2012 when they started doing live gigs and released a debut album, Hiding, Mingling, recorded with engineer Andy LeMaster. A second album, Stay Lost, tracked in Kernersville, North Carolina and co-produced by Nelson and engineer and mixer Scott Solter, was released in the fall of 2014. Rather than follow up immediately with another full-length, the band chose to break their next album into a series of small digital releases. Beginning in May 2016 with Ages, Vol. 1, they continued to release music two songs at a time, eventually closing out the cycle with a fifth volume. The following year, all ten songs were compiled into the full-length Ages LP, which received a physical release.
