She Drew The Gun

British psych-pop group She Drew the Gun revolves around singer/songwriter Louisa Roach, who takes a laid-back, almost folky approach only to add layers of psychedelia akin to the Coral's pastoral sound. Incidentally, James Skelly -- frontman for the Coral -- picked up on Roach's style and went on to produce both their debut, 2016's Memories of the Future, and its follow-up, Revolution of the Mind, in 2018. Originally a solo act, Roach used to play venues in and around Merseyside, where she caught the attention of Skelly and signed to his label Skeleton Key. Together they developed the music further and recruited members to perform live, including Sian Monaghan (drums), Jack Turner (bass), and Jenni Kickhefer (keys). Soon after they accompanied Fink on his European tour before returning to the studio to finish up their debut album, 2016's Memories of the Future. They followed the album by touring extensively, predominantly by supporting other artists such as Travis, Jane Weaver and the Coral, as well as multiple festival appearances. They finally broke their touring streak in late 2017, hunkering down in Liverpool's Parr Street Studios to write and record a second album, 2018's Revolution of the Mind. An EP, Trouble Every Day, arrived in November 2019 and featured of reworking of the Frank Zappa song of the same name.
