Roman Simovic

Roman Simovic is a Ukrainian violinist and conductor. He began taking music lessons with his father, conductor Igor Simovic, and studied at the Cetinje Music Academy, the Academy of Music and Arts in Novi Sad, Serbia, and the Moscow State Conservatory, where he completed his master's degree. He participated in several international competitions, winning awards at the Premio Rodolfo Lipizer International Violin Competition, the Sion-Valais Competition, the Yampolsky Violin Competition, and the Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition. In 2010, after playing with Camerata Salzburg, Simovic was named a leader of the London Symphony Orchestra. Simovic has performed with many orchestras, including the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, the Kiev Philharmonic, the Prague Philharmonia, the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra, the Teatro di Regio Torino, the Poznan Philharmonic, Camerata Bern, the Brabant Orchestra, and the Seoul Sinfonietta, among others, and he has played at numerous music festivals, including the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, the Kotor Art Festival, and the Bergen Festival. An enthusiastic chamber musician, Simovic is a founding member of the Rubicon String Quartet, and he is in demand as a recitalist. He records for LSO Live.
