Rob

Singer, songwriter, producer, and film and television composer Robin Coudert is better known to French indie pop and soundtrack fans alike as simply Rob. A versatile songwriter and arranger whose songs traverse sophisticated chamber pop, symphonic rock, atmospheric electropop, and acoustic singer/songwriter fare, he released his solo debut in 2001. Since his first short film in 2005, his diverse scoring work has included French crime films, American horror (2017's Amityville: The Awakening), and a TV series set in ancient Greece (2018's Troy: Fall of a City). Born in Caen, Normandy in 1978, Coudert began playing the piano as a child and went on to study at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. His ambitious, '60s pop-indebted debut album, Don't Kill, was released by Parlophone in April 2001. Rob followed it a year-and-a-half later with Satyred Love. Working mostly as a producer for the next several years, he made his soundtrack debut on the short film Pink Cowboy Boots in 2005. He also released a series of instrumental pop EPs in 2009 and 2010 titled Dodécalogue, Vols. 1-6. In 2010, Coudert composed music for documentaries and made his feature scoring debut with Belle Épine (Dear Prudence). A steady stream of film work followed, including the thriller Maniac (2012), the romance Grand Central (2013), and the fantasy-horror film Horns (2014). In 2015, he signed on as main composer for the espionage series Le Bureau des Légendes, and in 2017, he provided scores for the French science-fiction fantasy Seuls (Alone) and the American horror film Amityville: The Awakening (aka Amityville 9). Among ongoing film and television assignments, he composed music for the 2018 television series Troy: Fall of a City, which received a soundtrack release by Sony Classical that March.
