Mikhail Simonyan
Hailing from the same city as Vadim Repin and Maxim Vengerov, Mikhail Simonyan seems to be on a similar path as those two violinists to impress the world with his skills. At the age of 13, he began appearing as a concerto soloist and winning awards, eventually leading to a meeting with President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin in 2005. He continues to expand his concertizing and recital appearances throughout Europe and the United States, performing the great concertos by Tchaikovsky, Sibelius, Glazunov, and others. His first recordings were both on Deutsche Grammophon, one of Prokofiev sonatas and one pairing the concertos of Khachaturian and Barber.
