Guy Farley

British composer Guy Farley (born on February 5, 1963 in Haslemere, Surrey) has traversed the worlds of both classical music and pop, crafting orchestral scores for TV and film while also arranging music for numerous commercial acts. Especially noted for his piano playing, string arrangements and record production abilities, Farley first made a name for himself as a sound designer for the 1998 horror movie The Gardener and the thrillers Darkness Falls (1999) and Sorted (2000). In 2000, he recorded the piano part for new wave group Duran Duran’s song “Starting to Remember”, working closely with the band once again on the string arrangements for their 2004 album Astronaut while also serving as an additional producer on All Saints spin-off group Appleton’s 2003 single “Don’t Worry”, which entered the UK Singles Chart at number five. Continuing to prolifically score films like Wake of Death (2004) and The Flock (2007) throughout the 2000s, Farley also arranged strings for pop stars including The Sugababes and Leona Lewis. In 2014, he won two Music and Sound Awards for his musical involvement in the world of advertising, and in 2016, he contributed to the soundtrack for the first season of Netflix’s Golden Globe-winning period drama The Crown. The following year, he served as a co-producer on Britain’s Got Talent winner Tokio Myers’ debut album Our Generation, which entered the UK Albums Chart at number four.
