Deniz Seki

Deniz Seki is a Turkish pop singer, songwriter, composer, and actress, acclaimed as one of the most influential figures in Turkish entertainment. She was born in Istanbul, Turkey on July 1, 1970. She began her musical journey in 1993 after meeting composer Melih Kibar. This encounter paved the way for her work as a vocalist for notable artists such as Kenan Doğulu and Emel Müftüoğlu. In 1995, Deniz Seki's talent was recognized when she won the Pop-Show 1995 song contest with an original composition, garnering acclaim for her lyrics. She released her debut album Hiç kimse Değilim in 1997, but it wasn't until the release of her second album Anlattım (1999) that she was launched into the mainstream. The album included a collection of her own compositions and lyrics. That same year, she appeared in the film Can Dostum, starring Oktay Kaynarca and Yalçın Dümer. After performing extensively and firmly establishing her place in the Turkish pop scene, she released her third album Şeffaf in 2002, followed closely by Aşkların En Güzeli (2003), each showcasing a further refinement of her music persona. Over the following years, Deniz Seki released several albums, including Aşk Denizi (2005), Sahici (2008), and Sözyaşlarım (2011). In 2014, legal troubles put her career on temporary hold, but she made a comeback in 2018 with the album Uzun Hikaye. In recent years, she has released several singles, including the 2023 song "Cambaz," which made it to the Top 100 of the Turkish streaming charts.
